Frank Ferrel is widely regarded as a leading authority on North American traditional fiddle music. Along with his collecting, publishing, and music research, he is considered to be one of the leading American fiddlers performing today.

Frank begin his fiddling career at age 8, being first influenced by his grandfather, a traditional musician and native of Ohio and West Virginia. In the early 1970’s, while teaching in New England, He rekindled his interest in traditional fiddling under the influence of local Irish, French-Acadian, and Canadian Maritimes fiddlers.

Mr. Ferrel has kept active musically over the years playing for major festivals as well as local music sessions and dances. Frank has made numerous appearances on the nationally broadcast American radio series, A Prairie Home Companion, and is included on their anthology recording, “PHC Tourists.” He has performed with the legendary Celtic group, The Boys of the Lough, both as guest artist on their Scottish Highlands and Islands tours, as well as being a featured performer in numerous festival and concert performances throughout North America. His major label CD release, Yankee Dreams, was chosen by the Library of Congress for inclusion in their Select List of 25 Recordings of American Folk Music. Most recently he was featured in the fall, 2016 issue of Fiddler Magazine. In 2017 Frank was inducted into the North American Fiddler’s Hall of Fame.

Though she lives in the Boston area most of the year, Janine Randall is not only a fine piano comper but also is the Director of the Céilidh Trail School of Celtic Music in Inverness, Cape Breton.

During the non-summer months, Janine can often be found at the Gaelic Club meetings in the Canadian-American Club in Watertown MA, teaching her syncopated Cape Breton style of playing.

IT ALL STARTED WHEN…

Greg and Lindsey started making music together in spring 2017, song by song, just for fun. Some they released immediately, some they released months later just to friends and family, some they never released at all. They were both songwriters playing solo around Boston - they started playing shows together and spending hours and hours in Greg’s home studio. Their creative voices and twisted senses of humor complimented each other’s to a point at which they decided, we have no choice but to be in a band together.

(Also, Greg makes excellent soup.)

They released their debut album, Visiting Wine, in July 2018. It mixes tight harmonies with Southern stomp & holler for a sound with depth and energy. Their music marries a wide variety of music influences, from the intertwining harmonies of early church music to the rhythm-forward influences of heavy metal. As Greg describes, “now we’re just metal guitarists with acoustic instruments.”

"With 11 solo recordings to her credit (ranging from her originals, to folk songs, jazz standards, hymns, lullabies and Christmas songs) award-winning, Maine-based, singer and songwriter Lisa Redfern has opened for some of her favorites: The Roches, Dave Mallett, Livingston Taylor, Cindy Kallet, and Pete Seeger. For 5 years she produced the popular "Songwriters in the Round" series and has performed at the annual Sweet Chariot Music Festival - for over 30 years. A few years ago Lisa was commissioned to write a ballad for Penobscot Indian elder and WW2 hero, Charles Norman Shay, and was honored to sing it for him at a ceremony on DDAY in Normandy, France. Her song "My Eileen" was licensed by a band in California for inclusion in a compilation CD called "Sonoma Covers" and her song “Live Through the Questions” was licensed for use in a play called “Timeline."

As a voice-over artist she can be heard speaking and singing on several toys for Fisher Price and Play Along Toys and for an ESL program in China. Most of her CDs are available at www.lisaredfern.com and her music can be heard on most online platforms, including Hymnstream.com Lisa created a video podcast series: "Gingersnap": A Conversation and a Cookie with a Creative Mainer with 105 episodes so far.
